The Theatre

This week I have seen two plays! Tuesday night, we went and saw Woman In Black. It has been running in London basically forever, and it is said to be winding down pretty quickly. We wanted to see it before it ends. The theatre is right in Covent Gardens, so we got our pre-play dessert (Ben's Cookie), and were off!Hannah, Kate, Me, Soj, and Liz - little did we know we were about to scream so much!
The plot: When a friendless old widow dies in the seaside town of Crythin, a young solicitor is sent by his firm to settle the estate. The lawyer finds the townspeople reluctant to talk about or go near the woman's dreary home and no one will explain or even acknowledge the menacing woman in black he keeps seeing. Ignoring the towns-people's cryptic warnings, he goes to the house where he discovers its horrible history and becomes ensnared in its even more horrible legacy.

Thursday night, I saw Othello! This is hands down the best play I have ever seen, and I will probably ever see! Although it's not my favorite Shakespeare play, the actors were phenomenal. Iago was played by the one and only Ewan McGregor, and Othello was played by Chiwetel Ejiofor. I was ten feet away from Ewan McGregor for over three hours. The Donmar is a very very small theatre, which means every seat in there is a good one. I was surprised at how small and compact the actors, stage, and audience were to each other.Right before the play, enjoying some bubbly water and a lime. Look how creepy my hand is!Me and Soj, at intermission. After the play, we hung around hoping to get a few signatures, but the big stars 'dipped out' the back immediately after the play ended. This is the guy who played Cassio.

Seriously this was the GREATEST play. They all did so amazing. Except those two blonde girls who wouldn't stop laughing were really annoying. I wonder what they were laughing at...

Ok girls, you better pinch yourselves to make sure this isn't all a dream! Do you know how lucky you girls are to enjoy the theatre every other night...in London???
By the way...what was so funny?? I also changed my name to Soj's mom because that is how I'm best known most everywhere!
