the CREW

On February 14th, Thayne met his new best friend. We went and picked up Crew. Crew is a German Shorthair Pointer. He was born on December 27th, which makes him just barely 2 months old. He is one of the best dogs (I didn't say the only best dog) EVER! Crew loves to chew on shoes, especially slippers, he loves to run around the living room in circles, and loves sleeping on laps. Getting Crew has reminded me how much I really love dogs. I especially love his puppy breath, his puppy smell, and the way he looks when he sits and stares at me. Crew lives with Thayne, which means Thayne gets up with him once sometimes twice in the middle of the night to let him out. He has a nice kennel where he spends his nights. Thayne and I made him a blanket together, and he is learning to recognize it as his territory.

Crew comes from a great and extremely proud pedigree. Both his mom and dad are champion pointers in both time trials, and pheasant hunting. He is one of eight from the litter, and in my opinion... the best one!

So far the funniest moment with Crew: I was not in the room, and Thayne didn't quite have his eye on Crew when he peed...on my UTAH sweatshirt that was on the floor. Apparently it was hilarious, and Crew didn't get in trouble, because "of all the places Crew could have gone pee, he chose the Utah sweatshirt"... "this dog is smart" - Thayne. I didn't necessarily think it was funny, but someone else thought it was hilarious. We'll see what happens when Crew accidently pees on ANYTHING that says University of North Carolina.

Anyway, I really love Crew. In fact he already has a few nicknames. Crewton (pronounced Crouton), Cruiser, Crewbatron, Screw (if he's being bad). He hasn't even been around that long, so I'm sure there are more to come.

I have taken A LOT of pictures, and will post them shortly. It would be in everyones best interest to meet this dog... he is officially part of our crew.
